Matt Stevens aspires to build tools that harness collective intelligence for the collective good. With over a decade of experience in non-profit and government data analysis, data science, and data literacy projects, Matt currently serves as a Data Trust Lead at BrightHive - an impact-driven technology company that helps organizations, networks, and communities securely and responsibly link their data to enhance their impact, empower individual and collective decision making, and increase equity of opportunity. Prior to joining BrightHive, he served as the Director of Data Science at Benefits Data Trust - a national not-for-profit organization based in Philadelphia, PA - where he led a team committed to the use of data, insight, and innovation to transform the way that people in need connect with the benefits and services that improve lives. He started his career as a Mathematical Statistician at the US Census Bureau where he had the opportunity to contribute to the design and testing of the 2010 Decennial Census. Matt holds a BS in Statistics from the University of Tennessee, and an MS in Survey Methodology from the University of Maryland - College Park.
