Megan supports non-profits and others to use Mapbox tools in projects with positive social and environmental impact. Mapbox provides technical support, skilled volunteer time, coupons, and promotion for Community team partners. Before joining Mapbox, Megan worked for 5 years in geospatial education at the University of San Francisco (USF), where she was integral in shaping and building out a GIS certification program. During her tenure at USF, Megan's research focused on leveraging GIS technology to improve the lives of under-served populations in Southeast Asia. Through a joint NASA/USAID program called SERVIR, she helped to develop and institute new mapping technology allowing decision makers in a variety of areas to access geospatial data and tools to make effective planning choices. Megan holds a master's degree in public health and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of San Francisco.
